From 21 to 24 Februar 2018, we’ve been on holiday in Italy. Wednesday, 21 February 2018: On our way to Milan Thursday, 22 February 2018: Shopping in Milan Friday, 23 February 2018: Lamborghini Factory and Museum Saturday, 24 February 2018: Monza cancelled, early journey home
Today, I was booked to attend a Lamborghini driving experience on the famous Formula 1 race track of Monza – the main reason for our Italy trip. Unfortuntely, the organisers cancelled the event yesterday due to ice on the track. Although everyone’s safety has to be top priority, it’s still a shame. Especially as it’s really warm in Milan today (8 °C / 46 °F) [Weiterlesen]
Today, we’re driving by Lamborghini near Bologna. Not to select one to buy – we’ll have to save for longer for that – but to visit the factory and the museum. We’re surprised as we get closer. The industrial zone is situated far off in a rural part of the country which doesn’t seem to have benefited from the factory. The nearby town looks really [Weiterlesen]
Wow, this breakfast! That hot chocolate was divine! You can really tell the higher value food has in Italy everywhere. We stroll through the neighbourhood with its many ancient buildings and small alleyways before driving to the city centre of Milan. Unfortunately, the wheather forecast was right for once: It’s cold and rainy. But we don’t let us stop by a bit of water falling [Weiterlesen]
For once, we don’t spend our holidays in the UK, but in Italy. It’s only for a few days, but a welcome time away from the daily routine… before we drive to the UK again in April. 😉 We drive off around noon and have passed Lucerne soon, heading towards the Alps. The mountains around us get taller and taller as we make our way [Weiterlesen]

As always upon returning from the UK, we take a box of donuts home and share them with Gabi’s mother and sister.
We drive back home today! After stops at Pret a Manger for sandwiches and Krispy Kreme for a box of donuts we’re off. There’s a lot of traffic out of town so we miss our check-in slot at the Channel tunnel terminal in Folkestone by some minutes. This wouldn’t be so bad if we weren’t put on the next but one train only. I use [Weiterlesen]
On our last day in London, we drive to Shoreditch in east London. As they had no clue about a new Nike shoe I’m interested in at the huge Nike Town flagship store, I hope to find it at Nike Lab, a store for special Nike items in a remote location. And yes, I spot the orange Nike ‘Doc Brown’ vandals shoes from afar; they [Weiterlesen]
We sleep in on our second to last day in London. That feels good as the all of the fresh air yesterday made us really sleepy. We head into town around noon and meet Sheridan, Clare and Amy at the Hotel Chocolat branch we had these amazing hot chocolates last week. They are eager to try them, too. Then, we go to Fortnum & Mason [Weiterlesen]
