Before our holidays are officially over, we visit the BEA fair today. The exhibition for trade, agriculture and industry will only started last week and will only continue until tomorrow, and so far we have hardly missed a year. We are mainly interested in the culinary offer and the small animals. Today we are also here because of a special exhibition for the 50th anniversary [Weiterlesen]

Friday 3 May 2019: Fantasy Basel Swiss Comic Con

We are at home again, but today’s trip to the Fantasy Basel, a Swiss Comic Con, is still a part of our holidays. After all, we returned early to participate in the Fantasy which takes place for the fifth time already. Thursday, 2 May 2019: Back to Berne

We intended a quick visit to the park again today before returning to Switzerland. But it is very cold and rainy outside and Gabi and I both have a cold already. Besides, check-out time is at 11am and not at noon. So it’s not really worth it. We nevertheless end up feeling like in the park in the hotel: We have to wait in line [Weiterlesen]

Wednesday, 1 May 2019: Ups and downs in Disneyland Paris

Today we start in the Disney Movie Studio and want to see the car stunt show. But because of the big construction site in the middle of the park, we only get up to a few meters to the former entrance, but not closer. Apparently the new entrance is on the other side of the construction site. Signs would have been very practical. So we [Weiterlesen]

Tuesday, 30 April 2019: A detour to Paris

Today we leave London and drive to Paris. We wanted to visit Disneyland Paris again for a long time. We used to go there quite often, but our last visit was seven and a half years ago. So we take the train through the Channel tunnel and drive the remaining 300 km to Paris. It’s on our way home, more or less. We arrive at [Weiterlesen]

Today we meet Ollie, Clare, and Sheridan and Amy, who arrived from the USA yesterday, for brunch. Everyone is in a good mood and you hardly notice any jetlag. At the “Pain Quotidien” there is a nice selection of small and big breakfasts. Gabi orders a bread basket with a croissant and I get a baked omelette with ham and cheese. Freshly strengthened, we stroll [Weiterlesen]

Saturday 27 April 2019: Shopping with Caroline

Today we meet our friend Caroline for lunch at Selfridges department store, and for some shopping. Since our trip is rather short this time and we stay in London the whole time, we unfortunately can’t visit her and Peter and Jack in Aldershot. So we love that she comes to London so that we can spend some time together. We meet her in the Food [Weiterlesen]

Friday, 26 April 2019: A photo shoot in Richmond Park and three hours in the cinema

Today we drive to Richmond Park on the outskirts of London. Clare asked Gabi if she would like to pose for some photos with her electric wheelchair. She works in the marketing department of a company that produces high-quality prostheses and wheelchairs and wants to replace some old photos with new ones. After a short introduction by her colleague Rob, Gabi is on her way. [Weiterlesen]
