As I woke up with quite a headache today, we head out a little later. We drive to Spitalfield’s Market, with many food and sales stands with all kinds of homemade shirts, caps, cards, pictures and much more, vintage cameras, hats and all kinds of other things. Today we visit Liberty, one of our two favourite department stores in London. They always have the most beautiful Christmas department. And there are new exciting objects to discover each time we’re here. And it is very beautiful how the rooms are decorated. Today we start the day with a breakfast from Pret and then change the hotel room. Because the internet problem hasn’t been solved yet – and we just need the internet as we need the air to breathe. 😉 Then we make our way to Oxford Street. Here we mainly want to visit the department store Selfridges. We have lunch first: Gabi often gets the [Weiterlesen]

Today we leave Aldershot and drive on to London, where we’ll stay until Saturday. Driving there is very pleasant – even if we have the feeling that our satnav system leads us on a different way than usual. But we follow another white Evoque with Black Pack for quite a long time which makes me  happy. And we also spot a Lamborghini Aventador in the [Weiterlesen]

Today, another cosy day lays ahead of us. We drive in beautiful sunshine to Camberley, where we meet Peter, Caroline and Jack for lunch and spend the afternoon with them. The selection in the Italian restaurant is huge, and again we could order everything on the menu. In the end, I choose spaghetti carbonara baked in the oven and Gabi has pasta with meatballs. Today we sleep in and later meet Clare and Dan for lunch. We are very happy to spend time with both of them. The “Heron at the Lake” is a really great pub with a terrace over the lake. In summer, this must be a fabulous place to be. But even now it is incredibly cosy inside, with the lit fireplace directly behind Gabi. We [Weiterlesen]

Today we have to get up early to drive two and a half hours to a place near Birmingham. I booked a movie car experience that I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but only now did our holidays fit the date. On the race track at a former airport at Prestwold Hall, there is already a lot going on when we arrive. The [Weiterlesen]

Today we visit the Bluewater Shopping Centre. Here we like to spend a day doing some shopping on almost every trip. And always park near the Lego shop which we visit first. I am especially curious about the latest, second largest Lego Star Wars set that is the Devastator, Darth Vader’s Star Destroyer. It’s really big! And wide! This morning we meet Caroline and are very happy to see her again. We start with a breakfast at Costa, where I can’t resist the little polar bear chocolate cake. Then we go to the Costco across the street, where we have been with Caroline before. They have large packs… of everything! You can buy croissants by the dozen for example, or whole barrels of [Weiterlesen]

After our short trip to London in October, we are looking forward to a real holiday in the UK. We leave at 10am and first make a short stop at our local the motorway service area to buy a croissant.
