Wednesday, 19 October 2022: Taunton friends

On our first day in the UK, we find an amazing bakery and eat breakfast while driving to the southwest of England, where we visit our good friend in Taunton.

On the way, we stop at a farm shop that our friend has told us about so often. And it is really great. Besides many products from farms in the area, there is homemade bread and great donuts, which you can watch being made right through the window to the kitchen. And frozen side dishes for the Sunday roast, and a fruit salad, of which you can pack as much as you want to eat with a ladle.

We buy scotch eggs, quiches, sausage rolls and donuts for lunch and take them to our friend. Dog Mickey growls briefly, but then remembers us from our visit in May and soon licks my hand. The fact that the actually quite nervous and fearful dog is so trusting towards us is a great proof of love.

After many pleasant hours (and a little nap) we make our way back to Fleet.
