Friday, 15 November 2019: Grocery shopping and a relaxed afternoon

On our holiday’s last day we make our way to the Brunswick Centre near where we used to live (in the brick house on the first photo). Here we do our grocery shopping and ask ourselves, as always, what the lady at the till will think as we only buy sweet and salty snacks – and lots of them.

We had planned to see if Giraffe still offers their Mexican breakfast at this time, the Huevos Rancheros, which I love. But Giraffe has given way to another restaurant since our last visit. Bummer. But the chicken restaurant that is here now looks so yummy that we decide to have lunch here. Slim chicken’s fried chicken tenders with the different sauces are really delicious! We also try the fried pickles.

In the afternoon we take the relaxation aspect of holidays seriously and relax in the hotel. We start to prepare our luggage for the return journey and catch up with the Junior Bake Off episodes. With one episode each day, it’s difficult to keep up! It’s unbelievable how great many of the children are at baking! And they have at least twice as much imagination as the adults. We also eat a chelsea bun and a minced pie… just the right thing while watching a baking show!

In the evening we leave the hotel again to get a take-away dinner at the nearby train station. We were already looking forward to the extended offer of Yo!, which now offers more than just sushi.
