Monday, 22 May 2023: Back to the Future cereals
On our first day in England, we take it easy. And I have to say: thanks to LucY, I feel much more relaxed and rested than usual after a long drive. At the bakery I get a croissant for Gabi and a blueberry and custard brioche with crumbles. I discovered this during my last holiday. I also got a chocolate drink and a Pepsi Max Lime.

Satisfied, we set off for a B&M branch nearby. The discounter chain stocks certain cereals that you can’t buy anywhere else. I find what I’m looking for and am delighted. And we are more than surprised: there are lots of great things to buy here, not only food! Also smaller furniture, decorations and household things, and really nice ones, too. I could have bought a lot, and a slushie machine. But I decide against it.

From here we drive to the Festival Place shopping centre in Basingstoke. And we are spoilt for choice when it comes to food. Although: For me, the matter is clear: I’ve been looking forward to a ramen noodle soup from Wagamama for a long time. Gabi orders her beloved Katsu Curry. The weather couldn’t be better for eating outside.

Wow, the long walk through the shops is really needed for digestion. Afterwards, LucY also gets a snack. And is easily the most beautiful car at the Supercharger again. I sit comfortably in the grass and watch one of those ugly electric BMWs stop at a normal charging station… and drive away again a little later. A closer look reveals that the four charging stations are out of order. That’s probably where the fear of electric driving comes from.

We are still pretty full from the awesome lunch and decide to get something small for dinner. We eat it at the hotel. A really relaxed day.
