Wednesday, 1 November 2017: Nike Lab and Camden

On our last day in London, we drive to Shoreditch in east London. As they had no clue about a new Nike shoe I’m interested in at the huge Nike Town flagship store, I hope to find it at Nike Lab, a store for special Nike items in a remote location. And yes, I spot the orange Nike ‘Doc Brown’ vandals shoes from afar; they are a reissue of the shoes Doc Brown wore in Back to the Future.

We then pop by a nearby ‘Box Park’, a pop-up market with small stores in a freight container each. What a great idea!

We then drive to Camden Town. There’s a new Kerb Market with around 30 food stalls that offer the most appetizing food, made to order on-site. Wow! I could eat EVERYTHING on offer! All the food looks great. Among others, there’s a Raclette stall (Raclette was invented in Switzerland and is currently in fashion in the UK and USA) and a stall where they pull the pasta through a hollow cheese wheel to get full cheese flavour. We finally decide on two chicken meals from separate stalls.

We continue to a nearby supermarket to do some grocery shopping: chocolate, sweets, crisps and other snacks to take home.

Then, we head into town once more to meet our friends for a last time before we drive home. They will be on their way home tomorrow or the day after, too.

I get a burger and chips at Five Guys to eat in the hotel before preparing our luggage for the journey home. It’s not that bad and I’m confident that everything will fit into the car.
