Monday, 23 October 2017: Westfield Shopping Centre
As it’s raining today, we drive to Westfield Stratford City Shopping Centre. It’s nice and dry there. 😉 And they have branches of most of the stores we’re interested in, as well as a huge selection of restaurants and a multiplex cinema.
Here, you can find things like monster trucks in the entrance of a clothing store. Why not!
If you shop hard, you need fuel. We have lunch at Nando’s where we share a chicken burger with chips and peas.
Let’s go again! At Marks & Spencer, we buy our favourite sweets for example.
There’s a LEGO store in here too! And again, all eyes are on the Millennium Falcon on display. The store has a nice selection of LEGO sets including the Disneyland castle.
In the afternoon, we have donuts and a shake…
… so it’s no wonder we’re not particularly hungry when it gets time to eat dinner. We therefore decide to leave the shopping centre and drive to Ottolenghi, a famous London restaurant for which I got a gift voucher for my birthday – thanks again, Petr and Daniela!
We’re pretty excited but at the same time a bit confused: The menu doesn’t list any sides and the meals are way less expensive than we thought. Until we learn that you order several portions per person – tapas style. So that’s what we do. We have tuna, goat, beans, kale caesar and sweet potatos.
