2.3.2011, Wednesday: I heart Keira Knightley
We take the bus to Piccadilly Circus to get our theatre tickets. We then stroll about Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden and Neal Street before having lunch in an Italian restaurant opposite the theatre. Great, cloth napkins and the best Pizza we ever had in London. Excitedly (I am, Gabi not so much), we cross the street and enter the theatre. Here, we are greeted by the theatre manager who apologises for last years problems (we couldn’t see the play because of some problems with our booking) and offers us chocolates, signed programs and free drinks and ice cream. Nice! 🙂
The play, The Children’s Hour, is a very sad one. It reminds me of Atonement, also starring Keira Knightley. But we’re not here for the play itself, as you might know. Keira Knightley, one of my all-time favourite actresses, is doing a great job and is very pretty to look at. Even Gabi admits that. She quite likes the other main actress, Elisabeth Moss from Mad Men. Sadly, it’s also Elisabeth Moss only who leaves the theatre afterwards and gives some autographs.
At 6pm, we read/watch the iPad 2 Keynote in front of the Apple Store at Covent Garden. Okay, the new iPad looks nice, but we’ll stick to ours. Our iPhones have enough cameras. After some more shopping we have dinner at Leon. Here, you order different bits and pieces for a complete meal to share. We aren’t that hungry and just have maroccan meatballs, falafel and rice. Delicious!
