After a short stop at Liberty (their Advent calendar was released this morning), we leave London and drive North to Chester. On our last day in London so far, we visit our favourite department store, Liberty of London. It’s always worth a visit with its beautifully selected clothes, fabrics, furniture, interiour decoration accessories, jewellery and mach more. The building itself is absolutely stunning. And their Christmas department is always a joy to look through. We then make our way down Regent Street and past Piccadilly Circus. [Weiterlesen]

As it’s raining today, we drive to Westfield Stratford City Shopping Centre. It’s nice and dry there. 😉 And they have branches of most of the stores we’re interested in, as well as a huge selection of restaurants and a multiplex cinema. We sleep in and then meet our lovely friend Ollie for lunch: a Sunday roast at Hawksmoor! It’s the first time we sit in the back part of the restaurant with its beautiful rounded ceiling. The tables fill up quickly. Today’s weather: windy – it shows! But the scarves Aki knitted for us keeps as warm and cosy and are just the right thing for this weather. 🙂 Today, we’re walking around Covent Garden and our first stop – as usual – is our favourite Sci Fi store, Forbidden Planet. We sleep in a little bit today. It’s what we needed after yesterday’s long journey. We later drive to Oxford Street and browse through the stores. The Disney Store is already all about the upcoming Star Wars film and promoting the penguin-like Porg quite a lot. They will wait under a lot of Christmas trees for sure. We leave home shortly after half past ten and make good progress. In Switzerland at least. Road work season seems to have begun in France. Construction site after construction site, with one lane traffic only and reduced speed limit.
