28 May 2016: Back at home
(Gabi) About 90 minutes before landing the cabin crew switched on the lights und woke us up with a nice hot towel.
Then they gave everyone a breakfast box. The croissant and the bread roll were pretty decent, as was the curious little cup of orange juice. That’s all I ate because my stomach was still a bit nervous.
First glimpse of Switzerland.
Smooth if a bit of an abrupt landing.
Zurich airport has this little subway that takes you to the terminal. They play folk music and cow sounds, so you don’t accidentally forget where you’ve landed lol.
My Dad was lovely enough to pick us up from the airport. On the way home he treated us to some snacks at a service station. Good thing because I had hardly eaten all day (and the day before). I had a simple bread roll and one of those chocolate bars Swiss people love to eat with bread rolls. They’re shaped like little chocolate branches and it’s customary to stick them into the roll. But I couldn’t be bothered today. And then a Rivella to drink because there’s nothing more Swiss than Rivella. It’s a soda made from milk and I adore it.
Thomie had some plum tarte, one of his all time favorites.
Motorway views.
We finally arrived home after an uneventful 90 minute drive. Totally knackered but insanely chuffed with the amazing holiday we had just experienced. Thank you so much for reading!
