Friday, 6 May 2022: London with a surprise

{:en}We’re off to London today. And as always, it takes patience to get there. But we enjoy the beautiful view as we drive past the Natural History Museum, the Ritz (which was founded by a Swiss Abroad), and Piccadilly Circus.

We head to the almost hidden side street in which we often find a parking spot. And are in luck. We browse Covent Garden area, starting with the Apple Store to have a look at their new computers.

We’ll only visit the Back to the Future musical during our autumn visit (on Future Day, 21 October), but stroll to the Adelphi Theatre to have a look and take some photos. When something very exciting happens! Watch the video to learn more!

I also visit the Leicester Square LEGO store and admire the new Star Wars sets. Since there are no Lego shops in Switzerland, this is the only opportunity to show my very special Black VIP card when buying something! Only very few people have one, and the employees always look very admiring and slightly jealous when they see it.

For lunch, we buy something from the Japan Centre and eat it outside. Mmmmmh!

Forbidden Planet disappoints me a little this time. The Funko Pops have taken over the store even more. Although I almost bought the huge Baby Yoda Pop. Or the Alien Facehugger. But where to put it? Honestly, I ran out of space a long time ago. So I only buy a Wallace and Gromit bottle (from when they catch the naughty ‘chicken’ at the end of ‘The Wrong Trowsers’).

Impressions from around Trafalgar Square. I spot a Jaguar in front of the Canadian Embassy which bears the license plate “CAN I” – “Canada 1”. Niiiice! I can’t imagine the Swiss Embassy came up with something like that.
