Today the traffic jams in the whole city centre. Gabi manages to guide us to Covent Garden (instead of the more distant Piccadilly Circus we had planned). So we’ll stay in this area today. On our way to the science fiction store Forbidden Planet we discover a new shop with collectors items from film and television. Harry Potter’s flying brooms are great – and really not that expensive. Their range of goods on offer also include a model of the “Unicorn”, a ship that plays an important role in two TinTin book (“Red Rackham’s Treasure”, and “The Secret of the Unicorn”). But it’s not for sale and without a price quotation.

In Forbidden Planet, the Funko figurines have gained even more ground than before. But there are still many other great things on offer. A Pusheen cushion comes home with us.

After lunch at Shake Shack, we slowly make our way back to the car. And we’re surprised to see the Apple Store Covent Garden closed. They most probably convert it to the new apple grove design. Outside it still offers a lot of opportunity for selfies… which is used a lot.

From here we head to the St. Paul’s Cathedral area. We stroll around for a bit and then visit the DriveTribe offices. About 40 mostly young people work in the open-plan office of the social network for car fans, write contributions, create quizzes, edit videos, record podcasts or think up something else to entertain the members. Impressive!

Afterwards we drive back to the hotel and head out on foot later. In the nearby train station we get our dinner: Gabi buys a sausage roll while I get a Mac’n’cheese lasagne from Pret. We also eat two slices of cake while watching my favourite baking show “The Great British Bake-Off” on TV.
