28.2.2011, Monday late afternoon: Driving into London
After saying goodbye to Caroline, Peter and Jack and some more shopping, we continue our journey. Driving into central London didn’t prove to be that difficult. Watch out for the traffic on the other lanes, pedestrians, bicycles and most of all black cabs and doubledecker buses, then you’re fine. On the way into town, we passed the Millenium dome (now the O2 arena), the London Eye, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. The TomTom satnav iPhone app did quite a good job but again lost our current position once and left us on our own while doing some recalculating. In the end, we reached our hotel by 6pm. I parked the car in the nearby car park, leaning out of the passenger side window to get the ticket, after checking in and bringing Gabi and the baggage to our room (no. 307, just like Mom’s car).
A short while after, we’re heading out again. We gaze at the Plush Goldhasen at Selfridges and eat dinner at Ping Pong Dim Sum.
