7 November 2014: Portsmouth

About once per trip over, we visit the sea. This will remain a special experience for Swiss residents who don’t have any. We’ve been to Portsmouth before. Today, we’re here to meet Clare, a friend of Gabi, who lives on the nearby Isle of Wight.

The Gunwharf area offers a lot of shops and restaurants. Time flies by while looking around, for example in a Lindt store. Despite being a Swiss company, it has a much wider variety of products on offer over here than in Switzerland. I’m still annoyed by that.

We have lunch at Las Iguanas. Gabi orders Quesadillas and Empanadas while I have an Enchilada (bottom photo). Omnom!

After some more shopping and drinking tea, we say goodbye to Clare as she is working in the evening. As sports editor of the local newspaper. Exciting!

We head back to the hotel and are quite exhausted. Maybe it’s because of too much fresh air? Is that even possible? We stay home in the evening, go to bed early and hope for new energy in the morning.
