Today we start a second attempt to drive to Piccadilly Circus and are more successful – although we had to earn the last metres with patience. First, we head to Fortnum & Mason, probably the oldest department store in London, which was founded over 300 years ago. As always, Gabi has a detailed shopping list and is very focused. In the end, a few sweet and salty delicacies end up in our shopping basket.

We then cross Piccadilly Circus and head for the Japan Centre. Here we have lunch (Gabi a Katsu Curry and I have a Poké Bowl) and then have a look around the shelves.

At the LEGO Store in Leicester Square, the Millennium Falcon still attracts a lot of attention even one year after its release. And I’m still fascinated by all the LEGO BrickHeadz figurines. I’d love to take them all with me!

We visit a few more shops on Regent Street before we leave for the next stop of our journey. We drive to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. On the way, we make a stop at a motorway service station which we have already visited several times. We have dinner here, fill up on petrol, and most of all, we wait for the traffic jam in front of us to clear. Which works very well.

We arrive at the hotel in time to watch another of my favourite TV shows. Today, the Apprentice candidates have to prove their entrepreneurial spirit by coming up with, producing and selling donuts. It’s good that we bought two exciting donuts in London to eat shile we watch the episode: one with beetroot, lemon and thyme, and one with a special kind of cinnamon sugar.
