For her last day in England, Christine has asked for a trip to one of the old university cities. We decide on Oxford as it’s closer to us. Who knows, maybe we may visit her here in the future? It’s a pity that the psychological faculty is not situated in one of the old buildings as well but in a less charming newer one rather off-site (no photo).

Oxford’s Covered Market is a brilliant invention. Although we’re more than lucky with the weather so far.

Old town and pedestrian zone

We have lunch at Giraffe. I enjoy an English Breakfast for the last time this trip while Gabi and Christine share an enormous platter of nacho crisps.

We continue to stroll through the old part of town.

This, I guess, is the University’s oldest building. From the courtyard, there are doors to a library and to the different historical departments: Languages (Hebrew and Greek), Geometry and Arithmetics, Grammatics and History, Philoshopy, Music, and Astronomy.

And then, it’s already time to say goodbye. We drop Christine off at the airport. She flies back home while we enjoy our last few days in Britain. We collect the rest of our baggage in Aldershot and then leave for Birmingham. On our way north, we get some dinner for the hotel at a service station and go to sleep early.
